As of June 9, 2012 I will no longer be accepting e-books for review. This is due to the overwhelming
demand of reviews, work and night classes taking up a lot of my spare time. It
is taking me several months to read and post reviews therefore until “my to be
reviewed list” is smaller I will no longer accept any more e-books for review.
I am extremely sorry.

Canada Day Hop–I AM CANADIAN!

I’m participating in the awesome Canada Day Hop to show off my Canuckness!

I have decided that I would do a “did you know theme”. I will introduce you to some authors, musicians and actors that are Canadian that maybe you never knew before. I may show you my Alberta love we have produce some famous people SmileThere will be a giveaway at the end of the post to win a popular Canadian authors book and a local indie author novel.

Kelley Armstrong – One of my favorite Canadian authors. Writes The Darkest Powers Series, The Gathering and The Women of the Otherworld series plus many more.

Lesley Livingston – Author of the Wondrous Strange series

Michelle Rowen – Author of the Demon Princess series

Nickleback – Good Ole Alberta boys. The BF actually bagged Chad’s groceries in his home town once.

Mother Mother – Vancouver based band who sing really really catchy songs

Metric – As of right now Metric is my favorite band! and who knew they were Canadian!

Sara Canning – Yep Aunt Jenna is Canadian. She was born in Newfoundland but grew up about an hour away from me! And believe it or not she is only 1 year older than me. I know I couldn’t believe it.

Actor Michael Cera attends the premiere of Superbad at Grauman's

Michael Cera – Oh how I love Scott Pilgrim.

Anna Paquin – Was born in Winnipeg but move to New Zealand when she was 4.

Evangeline Lilly – Another Albertan actress who grew up not far from me.

So were there any names that shocked you? We Albertans and Canadians are just as talented as the rest of the world.

Now the giveaway!

You have a chance to win:

Darkest Powers Trilogy Omnibus by Kelley Armstrong. This is a edition was a limited Canadian/Christmas only edition when it first came out. I’m still seeing them around the book store so I’m not 100% surte The Darkest Powers series. You get The Summoning, The Awakening and The Reckoning all in one fancy limited edition book.

and by a local indie author Wrush by The Karakul. This is a signed book. I was lucky enough to meet the author at a craft sale and picked up a copy for my wonder follower. Here is a bit of info about Wrush:

What is Wrush?   And how do you get there?
One girl is about to find out...

Tabetha Bright may be the cleverest girl ever to scoot around in a wheelchair. Her days in the hospital are spent daydreaming and writing magical tales, but when she receives a mysterious gift, a pen with magic of its own, her stories become dangerously real. Suddenly Tabetha is thrown into a perilous adventure in the strange and wondrous world of Wrush...

With the help of a Mungling, a captain, and a tattooed boy-wizard, Tabetha must stop a dark sorcerer from finding the Pyramid Map and destroying the protective wall between worlds. But how much can one girl, unable to walk, help against Wrush’s most powerful foe?

More than anyone ever imagined!

It sounded like Percy Jackson to me that is why I picked it up but I haven’t had the chance to read it which makes me sad. But I hope you will all enjoy it.
