For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.
I have been sitting on Shiver for a few years now and this month was Weres month for the Paranormal Reading challenge so it was the perfect excuse to start the series.
I expected more out of Shiver. I assumed that it was going to be similar to the other paranormal novels that I have read but it was more contemporary. Its not that I have a thing against contemporaries I just don’t go out of my way to read them. Shiver was well written but I wished that there would have been more action to the story. I found the characters to be fairly bland and didn’t find anything special about them just ordinary people. Maybe as the series progresses the characters develop. Overall, I was disappointed in the Shiver but I think that is because I had different expectations of the story.
